1st Feb. 2011 is the red letter day in the history of Infantry Road Mosque, Masjid E Mohammadiya, Vellore.The Community was extremely pleased at the presence of Justice MSA Siddiqui, Chairman NCMEI, Dr Shabistan Gaffar, Chairperson, Committee on Girl's Education, NCMEI and Mr Marwah, MLA Parliamentary Secretary to Mrs Sheila Dixit, CM of Delhi to lay the foundation for the proposed grassroot school at the land belonging to the mosque, almost the centre of Vellore town.
The project was the brain child of "Khan Brothers of Vellore", Mr Jaffer AA Khan a renowned architect and Dr J Akbar Khan, a renowned professor at the CAH College Melvisharam.
The other dignitaries present were Mr Md Saqhy Ex MP,Mr Md. Sadiq, Dy.Mayor Vellore City Corporation and Maulana Usman Shah Khadri, Rector of Al Lathifia Madrasa Vellore. The guest were welcomes by Dr J Akbat Khan and the program was compered by Dr Md Sahy who was instrumental in organising the function.
The programme was attented by nearly 250 inhabitants of the neighbourhood who are enthusiastic about the school. The school will be a unique design incorporating all green features and energy efficient measures. One of its kind the proposers will seek international advise on the school design. When completed in 2013, Insha Allah the school will represent the minority community of the town and will set an example in modern education.
